Ok, I haven't read beyond the first sentence of your entry, but I had to correct some graffiti on the library wall the other day! Maybe it's not just English teachers - Ruby is as bad!

I would like to point out that it was not me who added the 'r' to then sign in the lift at Southampton General Hospital: "there may be a delay in you(r) being released". But I wanted to. The Gerund's being a particular favourite of mine. Too bad there appear to be only four other people in the UK who recognise one/

Yes, I do it too. I read badly-written graffiti and my fingers start to itch and before I can stop myself I've whipped my red Nikko out of my handbag and started circling and annotating. My absolute favourite ever was the one that said "Satin Roolz!" next to an inverted pentagram. I mean, I like a nice shiny slippery fabric as much as the next woman, but I don't actually worship it or anything... Love, R xxx
