You know, I think you're onto something. In Queensland education (a couple of years ago) we introduced "New Basics", part of which is something called "Rich Tasks" (read all about it at http://education.qld.gov.au/corporate/newbasics/html/richtasks/richtasks.html ) - but basically (heh), "Rich Tasks are the outward and visible sign of student engagement with the New Basics curriculum framework. They are the assessable and reportable outcomes of a three-year curriculum plan that prepares students for the challenges of life in 'new times'. The Rich Task is a reconceptualisation of the notion of outcome as demonstration or display of mastery; that is, students display their understandings, knowledges and skills through performance on transdisciplinary activities that have an obvious connection to the wide world." Hey, it works for me. And anyway, just think how much more you could charge for a blow-job if you brushed your hair! Love, R xxx

LOL. I love it. Now I am a bit afraid that Bush will catch on to the spirit and enact a "No Sperm Left Behind" policy that would be unattainable because it would factor in all the women and vasectomized or naturally sterile men. At any rate, I'm off to brush my hair :o)
