Darling, I'm horribly confused. Why did anyone have to do anything to the spider? If it were that hard to catch, then it was obviously quite intent on staying away from people. I would have just kept my eyes away from the ceiling, let it be, and felt blessed it was guarding my space and keeping it insect-free. (And then I would have asked it to get a couple of its friends to help me push my book cart.) Love, R xxx

I would love to be able to do that, however I'm not at that point in my arachnaphobia desensitization. Even if I were, I wouldn't have been able to talk them out of killing it. I'm the only one there that even sees spider lives as worthy of respect. I'm just a little weak in my conviction to accept them in my space. I am doing much better, which doesn't help that spider, but I'm working on it. I no longer kill little spiders, I never kill spiders outside and if a spider is in my classroom, I won't let the kids kill it nor will I. When I do weaken and kill them (being the larger spiders), I always say a little prayer to help them on to their next incarnation.
